Solid hardcover.; Dispute over Canadian fur seal hunting in the open waters of Bering Sea starting in 1886. Text includes documents and briefs on this international law dispute through 1892. This practice killed many nursing mother seals and severely damaged the seal rookeries. The dispute went to arbitration in 1893, and the rulings favored Great Britain (representing Canada), although some ineffective restrictions were placed on the practice.
