Gutter started after copyright page, light soil, light tone, 1904 Christmas gift inscription, otherwise light wear. Still solid hardcover. ; Undated James Pott & Co book containing three Delia Lyman Porter stories: Hospital for Broken Resolutions; My Possible Self; and The Measuring Rod. All three are copyright 1892 by Anson D F Randolph, and were included as part of The Blues Cure (1892), a collection of five Porter stories, all available separately. Randolph died in 1896 and the firm was dissolved in 1899. Potts, also a religious publisher, likely purchased existing Randolph sheets at that time, and bound these three together, particularly as the book has a stub title page. Attractive color Harrison Cady frontispiece; nice decorated front cover. Delia Lyman Porter, daughter of a Yale astronomy professor and wife of a Yale divinity school professor, wrote inspirational short fiction. ; 14, 18, 13 pages.
