Printed by typographer and book designer John Fass in his YMCA room on a small iron press, made by Hughes & Kimber in 1905, and previously owned by Bruce Rogers and Valenti Angelo. Illustrated with leaf prints made directly from leaves by Fass with penciled identifications, each individual leaf only lasting for one or two printings. "What I do is for pleasure. If, while printing, I should like to see a change made here or there or even a change in color, I do it. I like variety, and after all I am doing it for my own satisfaction, so why should I adhere to rules, formulas, etc.? That takes the pleasure out of it and makes it strictly commercial."
