Extra illustrated title page and title page engraving; F Bleiswyck fecit. François [Frans] Van Bleyswijck was an engraver from Leiden, primarily of book illustrations. Johann Caspar Schröder was a Dutch classical philologist who edited editions of Cicero, Seneca, and Epictetus. His work on Cicero's Epistolarum was first published by apud P. de Coup, Amstelodami 1709, and next printed in Delft in 1721. It had several further publishers in the 1700s. An attractive early eighteenth-century printing of Cicero's selected letters with Schröder's notes, which reflected Richard Bentley's critical appendix to John Davies’ edition of Cicero’s Tusculan Disputations , and the life of Cicero based on Denis Lambin's sixteenth century work. ; [54], 284, [16] pages.
