One side highlights Robeson's triumphant Hollywood Bowl concert of 1940, while the other mixes reviews of his events of 1940 with his extensive career. "Paul Robeson, the great negro folk singer, will again carry his message of song from coast to coast in his native land. This good news follows Robeson's record tour of last season in which he sang sixty concerts on two swings to the west coast. In Hollywood, 30,000 cheered him at the Bowl; in Chicago's Grant Park, 150,000. Wherever he sang, capacity audiences were there to greet him."
